MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION:
The surface is made of HPL mounted on MDF inside. HPL is bakelite also known as laminate which is a coating material made of synthetic resin, durable and hard. Its real name, then, is High Pressure Laminate ‘HPL’. Bakelite as a material can have a matte or glossy finish. It is placed on MDF and its main characteristics are its resistance to knocks, abrasion and stains, its resistance to the creation of bacteria and finally its color stability to light and artificial lighting. It also shows resistance to high temperatures, with excellent resistance to fire, scratches and particularly high resistance to water.
The legs are acrylic. Acrylic, also known as plexiglass, is a type of shatter-resistant, flexible plastic — this material is strong and unlikely to break. Acrylic also tends to be even more transparent than glass and is derived from polypropylene.
MAINTENANCE:
A regular dusting and a wipe down with a damp cloth, it is enough to maintain the table. For the surface, you can also use mild commercial cleaners, but not on the acrylic legs where, as mentioned, a wipe with a damp cloth is ideal.
