MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION:
The coffee table is made of solid SUAR wood. When we refer to solid wood, we mean woods made entirely from the trunk of a tree. Solid wood is the most expensive wood choice but stands out for its timeless aesthetic.
Suar wood is the wood of the Albizia Saman tree, sometimes called the rain tree, a tree native to South America. This tree was introduced to Indonesia as a plantation tree. The wood is known by many different names, including Monkeypod, Samenes Saman, Parota, South American Walnut and Acadia, as well as Suar Wood. It is a beautiful well-formed wood, with plenty of intersecting “waters”. The “heart” of the wood is close to the color of walnut, while the rest of the body of the wood is lighter in color.
Each piece of Suar wood, like each snowflake, is unique. The configuration of the wood’s “waters” can vary greatly, making one piece look more desirable to one particular customer than another.
Properly dried, suar wood is very strong and durable.
The existing cracks or those that may be created over time are due to the contraction-expansion of the living organism called solid wood, and are not structural defect, giving originality and unique design to your space. During the production process, existing cracks are smoothed and stabilized with material made from the same wood. Therefore, there may be color variations and differences in product dimensions due to the dimensions of the treated wood. These are not a defect of the product.
MAINTENANCE:
The coffee table does not need special maintenance. A pass with a damp cloth is enough, and if there are stains with a gentle spray from the many on the market. In general, even in the case of stains, the secret is quick cleaning before the wood has time to “water”.
